The purpose of the Nebraska Microenterprise Development Act is to assure that micro businesses realize the full potential to create jobs, enhance entrepreneurial skills and activities, and increase low and moderate income households' capacity to become self-sufficient; and to facilitate the development of a permanent, statewide infrastructure of microlending support organizations. The CRA's Microenterprise Program provides business counseling, technical assistance and training for small business owners as well as low interest loans to small businesses with 5 employees or less. The maximum loan amount is $35,000 and the current interest rate is 6%. Loan proceeds may be used for the purchase of inventory, fixtures, business start up costs, working capital or property acquisition. Any low to moderate income small business owner in Adams County is eligible to apply. Click here for an application.
